The dogs are always in the kitchen, hoping to catch a tidbit that might fall from the counter.

Lesli decided that there was something behind the stove and was going to dig until she found it. There is about an inch of space between the stove and the wall of the cabinet. The other dogs were curious but gave up after a few minutes.

Not Lesli. She was sure there was something worth going after. I was curious myself, so I got a flashlight, got down on all fours and looked back there. I searched but could not find anything. As soon as I moved, she was right back in position, digging. She did this on and off all day long. She finally gave up just before bedtime.

I have to say, one of the many things I love about my pets is the hours of endless entertainment they provide. And yes, she was back at it again this morning. And no, she still didn't find anything.

Appreciate the Little Things

Life is so hectic now a days that we forget to take time to enjoy the little things in life. I was running errands the other day and noticed 3.

First, I stopped by Target to do some Easter shopping. As I sat to have a bite to eat in their little food court, I noticed something I've never seen before. This particular store had parking underneath so there was an escalator to go up and down from it. In the middle was a down escalator for the shopping cart! I've never seen this before.

So as I was eating, I watched this amazing little creation. Customers would push their cart through these little green gates. Little "teeth" grabbed the bottom and helped it slide down as you followed beside it. I don't know why, but I found this to be quite amusing for a good 10 minutes.

Later in the afternoon, I wanted a snack with chocolate. I went through my bags and found a Cadbury chocolate egg. (It just isn't Easter without Cadbury eggs.) I sat in my car, slowly eating my yummy delight. It brought back pleasant memories of past holidays.

Lastly, I was heading out to pick up my son from school. I noticed some birds sitting in a basket that my neighbor has hanging on the side of her house. Every year, these birds come back and make their nest in this basket. As spring returned, so did this feathery couple.

They just sat their, looking at me. I don't know if anyone else noticed them. I have to say, that by the end of the day I felt pretty good. Life is so full of stress and everyone is always in a hurry that we don't notice those little pleasures or amusements. I was lucky on Tuesday to have had 3.

I hope my experience reminds you to stop once in a while and appreciate the little things.

Life of a Junebug

So I finally got off my butt and decided to start blogging. I'm sure I'll hit a few bumps along the way as I figure it out so hopefully you'll bare with me.

My name is June and I'm a stay-at-home mom. I have 2 sons, one is almost 17 yrs old and the other is almost 7yrs old. I didn't plan a 10 year gap, that's just what fate had in mind for us. My younger son is high-functioning Autistic.

I used to work as an office admin before staying home with my kids. I had to work when my first son was young and really wanted to stay home with my second. I have recently started my own purse company as well as being an independent consultant for Cookie Lee jewelry and Tupperware.

Our household also includes 4 cats and 4 dogs. Yes, I realize that is a lot of animals. The cats spend their day sleeping in my room, usually laying in the sunlight. 3 of the dogs are pure breed labs, 2 chocolate males - Bear and Peanut, 1 yellow lab - Cleo. Lesli is a shelter dog, half lab and half border collie. They spend their day running around chasing each other. In the evening, they cuddle up the couch.

My husband works in sales. An average day for him is usually 15 hours at work. He works hard so I can be home with the kids. It's been good for my younger son to be able to drop him off at school in the morning, be able to attend class parties, attend last minute play dates, and for me, to have coffee with the other moms.

So, now you know a little about me and my life. I love to talk and always have something to say. Sometimes it's even funny.

I'm off to finish the dishes before going to bed. I have a long day ahead of me tomorrow. Have a great Thursday.
